Foolproof Directions to Esk Valley

The directions given below will get you right to the door, without a problem.

From the South take the A64 past York towards Scarborough and Hull. Turn off at Malton on the A169 to Pickering and Whitby. Through Pickering, and head for Whitby. After passing the RAF Fylingdales "Pyramid" (shown below) take the first left turning, signposted to Goathland.

Just as you enter Goathland, stop before the junction, with the church on your right ..... and set your milometer to zero.

3.4 miles Turn right (signposted "Esk Valley")
4.3 miles Turn right (sinposted "Esk Valley")
4.6 miles Arrive at Esk Valley

From the North take the A171 Middlesbrough to Whitby road. Shortly before Whitby, on a sweeping bend, turn right to Egton / Grosmont. At the Egton Village Shop / Garage,stop ....... and set your milometer to zero.

0.0 miles Egton Village Shop. Continue straight ahead, and down Egton Bank, towards Goathland.
0.9 miles Under railway bridge.
1.2 miles Bear left up Egton Bank (signposted "Goathland")
1.6 miles Turn left (signposted "Goathland")
1.8 miles Ignore first signpost for Esk Valley
2.3 miles Turn left (signposted "Esk Valley")
3.2 miles Turn right (signposted "Esk Valley")
3.5 miles Arrive at Esk Valley
